We are a team of researchers from Stockton University (USA), Wroclaw Medical University (Poland), Universidad de La Rioja (Spain), and WSB Merito University (Poland).
We are conducting a study on the experiences of LGBTQ+ people in the healthcare system. We warmly invite you to complete a short questionnaire – it will only take about 8 minutes. Participation in the study is voluntary and completely anonymous – we do not collect any personal data at any stage. You can withdraw from participation at any time by closing the form without having to provide a reason.
You are eligible to participate in this study if you:
• are at least 18 years old,
• identify as LGBTQ+,
• have used healthcare services in the United States within the past 24 months (e.g., doctor’s visits, emergency department visits, hospitalization, diagnostic testing, emergency medical services, or private healthcare).
This study is part of the international project HERE 2 – Health Exclusion Research in Europe. Its goal is to conduct a psychocultural adaptation of the English version of the LGBTQ+ Healthcare Experiences Scale (LGBTQ+ HCES).
In this survey, we use inclusive, gender-neutral language to ensure that everyone, regardless of their gender identity, feels seen and treated with respect. This approach avoids assumptions about gender and helps make the questionnaire accessible to people who do not identify within the binary categories of “woman” or “man.”
